Nintendo 3DS will be both 2D and 3D
2010 is the year of 3D! There is 3D cinema, now 3D in the shops and soon there will be portable 3D gaming.
Nintendo announced earlier this year that they will be releasing a 3D version of their hand-held gaming console, the Nintendo 3DS.
The 3DS will display 3D games without the need for special glasses, and there will also be the option to switch between 3D and 2D gaming modes.
Being able to use both 2D and 3D modes will widen its appeal.
Expect a launch date around October 2010.
