Sharp to join 3D TV battle
Sharp have announced that they will begin selling
3D-capable LCD TVs in Japan this summer.
They will then launch
3D TVs in China, Europe and the United States by December.
Sharp's new products will use 4-primary-color technology and will be the be the world's first 3D TV using yellow on top of the three conventional primary colors of red, green and blue. This then enables the TV sets to offer brighter, more vivid images.
Panasonic and Samsung have already released
3d models, while Sony plans to start offering 3D TVs in June.
Sharp have announced that will be making advanced 3D displays for mobile phones this year that do not require special glasses
If you want to watch Sharp's new
3D LCD TVs you will need to wear the special headgear though!
Sharp reckon that
3dTVs will account for up to 10% of its total LCD TV sales this year.
